Heating appliances planned for use with a positive pressure, collective flue systems require always a non-return valve. The primary function of a non-return valve is to prevent back flow of flue gases from active appliances
on the system into any non-active appliance. Precondition for this solution is that the heating appliance is suitable for operating under positive pressure. If heating appliances do not have factory fitted, internal non-return valves then a non-return valve needs to be installed at the outlet of the heating appliance, in the gas flue system.
Technical conditions
Before using a non-return valve it must be proved that:
-
the heating appliance can deal with a positive pressure system in general
-
the non-return valve doesn’t have a negative influence on functioning of the heating appliance.
